Vote on a request to approve awarding bid to Laughlin-Sutton Construction Company for the Upfit project for the new CORA Food Pantry building and authorizing the County Manager to execute the agreement.

 

ABSTRACT

 

Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve awarding bid to Laughlin-Sutton Construction Company for the Upfit project for the new CORA Food Pantry building and authorizing the County Manager to execute the agreement.

 

Introduction & Background: Chatham County has completed the construction of a new 2,800 sq ft metal building for the CORA Food Pantry which now needs to have the upfit completed for use of the facility. This request addresses adding the necessary interior components, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical to allow the staff to use the new building for its intended purposes. 

Discussion & Analysis: It is being requested that the BOC approve allowing Dan LaMontagne as County Manager approve/execute the contract for the Upfit project for the new CORA Food Pantry building by Laughlin-Sutton Construction Company.

 

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan:  7. Provide infrastructure to support desired development; 8. Become more resilient; BOC Goal - Ensure public safety through adequate resources, plans, and partnerships.

 

Budgetary Impact:  This project is proceeding with budgetary support from the COVID Relief Funds in accordance with the allowable use for non-profit agencies.

 

Recommendation: Motion to approve awarding bid to Laughlin-Sutton Construction Company for the Upfit project for the new CORA Food Pantry building and authorizing the County Manager to execute the agreement.
