Vote to approve competitive bid exemption and sole source for Mobile Communications America, in the amount of $9,362.50 for FCC frequency coordination and filing fees.

 

Abstract

Introduction & Background:  Mobile Communications America is the trusted vendor for programming and installing radios and repeaters for our radio system upgrade project.  Their knowledge and experience with our radio system upgrade project ensures we have the appropriate frequencies licensed through the FCC.

                     

Discussion & Analysis:  North Carolina General Statute 143-129(e)(6) authorizes local governments to purchase without bidding when standardization is the overriding consideration.  Mobile Communications America is the authorized vendor for installation and service of Motorola radios and hardware for the radio system upgrade project.

 

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: Ensure public safety through adequate resources, plans, and partnerships to keep people and property safe.

 

Budgetary Impact:  $8,750.00
