Abstract
Introduction & Background: Due to a surplus of funds left in FY26 Grant to Orgs budget in the amount of $6,762.92, another Grants to Recreation Agency process was opened from June 20, 2025 to July 21, 2025. A recreation agency submitted an application that qualified for the Grants to Recreation Agencies process. The agency attended the Recreation Advisory Committee meeting on 8/6/25 to do a presentation about their project and funding request. The allocated amount for agency is $6,762.92 and a total of $6,762.00 was requested. Summary of the project and requests are listed below:

Jordan Lake Trails Conservation Association is a volunteer group that was organized in 2004 to develop and maintain the Mason Point Horse Trail, an approximate 12-mile trail system, for long-term recreational use and enjoyment by equestrians and hikers. Funding will be used to improve and refresh the trails, to keep trails safe and usable, provide training and safety equipment to volunteers, and minimize environmental impact.
1) Trails Maintenance Supplies and Equipment= $4,062.00
2) Trail Improvements/Repair $2,500.00
3) Sawyer Training= $ 200.00

Discussion & Analysis: The Recreation Advisory Committee used the matrix score system and general discussion to make their recommendations.

Jordan Lake Trails Conservation Association scored 126. The Recreation Advisory Committee recommends fully funding the request of $6,762.00

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: Goal 6 - Provide recreational opportunities and access to open space.

Budgetary Impact: $6,762 approved in FY26 Budget.
