Vote on a request to appoint Alan E. Rimer to fill the vacant Engineer Seat on the Board of Health effective April 4, 2022.

 

Abstract

Action Requested: Vote on a request to appoint Alan E. Rimer to fill the vacant Engineer Seat on the Board of Health effective April 4, 2022.

                     

Introduction & Background: The county Board of Health is the policy-making, rule-making, and adjudicatory body for the Chatham County Public Health Department.

According to General Statute 130A-35, the composition of the Board shall reasonably reflect the population makeup of the county and shall include: Three public representatives, one licensed Dentist, one licensed veterinarian, one licensed Physician, one licensed Pharmacist, one licensed Optometrist, one licensed Dentist, one County Commissioner, and one professional Engineer.

                     

Discussion & Analysis: Board members may serve (3) consecutive three (3) year terms. Alan E. Rimer would like to serve the first (3) three-year term on the Board of Health Engineer Seat. 

                     

Budgetary Impact: Board of Health members are compensated a per diem and mileage.

Adequate funds are budgeted annually in the Health Department Budget.

                     

Recommendation: Vote on a request to appoint Alan E. Rimer to fill the vacant Engineer Seat on the Board of Health effective April 4, 2022.
