Abstract
Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve increasing the Water Utility Budget by $1,627,683.00 through appropriated fund balance.
Introduction & Background: The Water Utility budget needs to be amended to allow for the completion of current and new projects.
Discussion & Analysis:
The Water Distribution budget needs to be increased by $1,285,078.00 for completion of the 902 Booster Pump Station Project and to fund the Sanford Interlocal Agreement for a Joint Water Treatment Plant Expansion. The 902 Project bid came in over budget at $670,134.00 and an additional $45,000 is needed for project management. The Sanford Interlocal Agreement was not funded in fiscal year 2022. $60,000 has been encumbered so the budget needs to be increased by $569,944.00
Bynum Wastewater Treatment Plant budget needs to be increased by $280,605 for a Condition Assessment Project ($110,000.00) and Rehab Project ($170,605.00) for which preliminary work was begun in fiscal year 2022 but not completed.
The Water Treatment Plant budget needs to be increased by $62,000 to repair the high service pump building’s collapsing roof and rehab of the interior due to exposure to the elements.
Budgetary Impact: Increase the Water Utility Operations budget by $1,627,683.00
