Abstract
Introduction & Background: The North Carolina Capacity Building Competitive Grant (CBCG) Program was enacted by the NC State Legislature to ensure local emergency management offices are adequately equipped, trained, and prepared for all hazards and emergencies. Chatham County Emergency Management identified availability of sanitation facilities a vulnerability at disaster shelters and major incident scenes.
Discussion & Analysis: Chatham County has been awarded $141,800.10 from the FY24 NC Emergency Management Capacity Building Competitive Grant to purchase and equip trailers with restrooms and/or showers to support disaster sheltering and major incident responses.
