Introduction & Background: At the May 20, 2021 budget work session, the Board of Commissioners stated their intent to approve the FY 2021 - 2022 Recommended Budget with a few corrections and changes. Staff was instructed to make the corrections and changes in advance of the Board of Commissioners voting to approve the ordinance at the regularly scheduled June 21st meeting.

Discussion & Analysis: At the May 20, 2021 budget work session the Board of Commissioners stated their intent to approve the FY 2021 - 2022 Recommended Budget with a few corrections and changes. The corrections were due to errors that staff found in the document and are listed below:

The Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) department is to be funded wholly by occupancy tax revenues, because of salary/benefits changes the budgeted revenue was short by $2,613 dollars. Staff will increase the occupancy tax revenue to balance this department's budget.

In the Library department, several grants and donations that are typically not budgeted until the grant award/donation has been received was inadvertently budgeted. Staff reduced the budget of these line items to $0 for a total reduction of $99,105.

Finally, due to the aforementioned changes, the General Fund did not balance as required by state statute. Staff reduced the appropriated fund balance by $101,718 to bring the budget back into balance.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: The FY 2021 - 2022 Budget Ordinance continues to use the Comprehensive Plan as a mechanism to assist with determining funding. This budget ordinance continues to fund the priorities outlined in the Comprehensive Plan.

Budgetary Impact: This ordinance will set funding for the FY2021 - 2022 fiscal year. A summary of the changes from the Manager's Recommended Budget follows:
