Abstract

Action Requested: Vote on a request to award the bid, in the amount of $670,134.00 to Carolina Civilworks, Inc., and approve Dan LaMontagne, County Manager, to sign the Notice of Award and contract after legal review.

Introduction & Background: Carolina Civilworks will construct a chemical booster station at the County’s Hwy 902 Pump Station.

Discussion & Analysis: The chemical booster station will increase the chloramine concentration of water supplied by the City of Sanford and pumped to Chatham County’s Southwest Water System and Siler City.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan:

Budgetary Impact: Originally budgeted in FY22 operating budget, the bids came in much higher than expected so a budget amendment will be needed.

Recommendation: Vote on a request to award the bid, in the amount of $670,134.00 to Carolina Civilworks, Inc., and approve Dan LaMontagne, County Manager, to sign the Notice of Award and contract after legal review.
