Vote on a Request to Approve an Easement for Duke Energy overhead power lines over Martha’s Chapel Road collection center and authorize the County Manager to Sign

Abstract

Action Requested: Vote on a Request to Approve an Easement for Duke Energy overhead power lines over Martha’s Chapel Road collection center and authorize the County Manager to Sign

Introduction & Background: Duke Energy has requested an easement for an overhead power line across county owned property.

Discussion & Analysis: Duke Energy is re-routing an existing overhead power line which runs along Marthas Chapel Road.  The new route will take the power line across a portion of the property where the Marthas Chapel solid waste and recycling collection center is located.  The new power line and easement will not change or inhibit the operation of the collection center.  Some trees on the property closest to Marthas Chapel Road may have to be trimmed back or removed to accommodate the new power line easement.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: N/A

Budgetary Impact: There is no cost to the County for the granting of this easement.

Recommendation:  Vote on a Request to Approve an Easement for Duke Energy overhead power lines over Martha’s Chapel Road collection center and authorize the County Manager to Sign
