Action Requested: Motion to surplus weapon and award the service weapon to Deputy Brad Johnson on the event of his retirement from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office
Introduction & Background: Deputy Brad Johnson has served over 18 years with he county but a total of 30 years in law enforcement.
Discussion & Analysis: In the past, on the event of a long serving, sworn officers retirement, their assigned service weapon, Glock 9mm, model 17, has been surplused and presented to them upon their retirement. It is our desire to honor Deputy Brad Johnson’s service to Chatham County and its citizens in this way.
Budgetary Impact: None. This will have ne effect on our operating budget.
