Title

Vote on a request to approve contract for Social Services for the 02/01/2017 to 06/30/2017 with Angenette Stephenson, Attorney-At-Law (Holcomb & Stephenson, LLP).

Abstract

Action Requested: Motion to approve listed contract for Social Services for the 02/01/2017 to 06/30/2017

Introduction & Background: The above listed contract is necessary for the Chatham County Department of Social Services to carry out specific functions related to program administered by the Department.  In order for the Department of Social Services to be able to dispense funds and claim reimbursement for funds expended for this contract, valid contract covering the current fiscal year must be in place. This contract is being submitted mid-year after an RFQ was issued in November 2016 when Samantha Cabe resigned after being elected a District Court Judge.

Discussion & Analysis: In order to conduct the agency’s business in a manner that meets federal and state standards, helps clients achieve satisfactory outcomes, and meets community expectations, Chatham County Department of Social Services must contract with an array of providers.  The contract listed above is necessary and essential for the agency to properly conduct business for the remainder of FY 17.

Budgetary Impact: Contract is covered by a line item in the budget for FY 16-17.  No funds are being requested.

Recommendation: Motion to approve the listed contract for Social Services for the fiscal year 02/01/17 to 06/30/17.
