Introduction & Background: Chatham County Food and Lodging program has been enrolled in the FDA Retail Food Program Standards since 2011.  The program standards provide a framework for quality improvement/quality assurance for local retail food programs.  This year FDA provided funding to the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) to administer a grant for local programs to develop a Comprehensive Strategic Improvement Plan.

Discussion & Analysis: The Comprehensive Strategic Improvement Plan is a multiyear document that once developed will be used to determine how to obtain and maintain compliance with the Retail Food Program Standards.  This document is also meant to be fluid and will change as the County grows and priorities shift in our retail food program.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: N/A

Budgetary Impact: No Local Funding Requested

Recommendation: Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve $9,025 Food and Lodging Grant Funds.
