Title

Discuss and vote on the final list of legislative goals to submit to the NCACC by August 23, 2024

Abstract

Introduction & Background: The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners asks all 100 counties to submit legislative goals ahead of the 2025-2026 Biennium. Goals must be submitted by August 23rd to be considered by the Legislative Goals Committee in November.

Discussion & Analysis: The NCACC’s legislative goals process is an opportunity to learn about common challenges facing North Carolina counties and prioritize advocacy efforts with the NC General Assembly.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: Many of the goals submitted may address a variety of Plan Chatham goals.

Budgetary Impact: No funds are required to participate in the NCACC’s legislative goals process.

Recommendation/Motion: Discuss and vote on the final list of legislative goals to submit to the NCACC by August 23, 2024.
