Abstract
Introduction & Background: In December 2025, the Board of Commissioners approved funding for the Chatham County Partnership for Children to conduct a pilot of the Expanding Access to Early Learning Initiative with a duration of approximately 6 months. The initial pilot phase has been completed, and the Partnership for Children is prepared to share the results of the pilot with the Board of Commissioners.
Discussion & Analysis: The Board of Commissioners approved funding for the Chatham County Partnership for Children to conduct a pilot of the Expanding Access to Early Learning Initiative with a duration of approximately 6 months. The initial pilot phase has been completed, and the Partnership for Children has prepared a presentation and report to share the results. The Partnership for Children is interested in continuing and expanding the Expanding Access to Early Learning Initiative and will present information on what a full-year of programming would look like if funding is available.

Budgetary Impact: There is no budgetary impact to receiving the update on the pilot program. If the Board of Commissioners chooses to continue the programming for a full fiscal year, there will be a total budgetary impact of $799,002. The Board of Commissioners approved funding for full-year programming as part of the FY2026-27 annual operating budget.
