Title

Vote to approve a contract with A. M. Myles, Inc. for the renovations at the Performance Building for the Board of Elections

Abstract

Introduction & Background: The restaurant that used to occupy space in the Performance Building has relocated, leaving the County the ability to renovate that space to house the Board of Elections. This renovation will provide the BOE with additional square footage to accommodate the needed additional office and training space to meet their current growth. Design and bidding for the project has been completed and a low, responsive bidder has been identified.

Discussion & Analysis: A. M. Myles is the low responsive, responsible bidder and upon approval of this contract, the contractor will be able to begin demolition/construction with an anticipated nine-month duration for completion.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: Provide infrastructure to support desired development; Become more resilient; Ensure public safety through adequate resources, plans, and partnerships.

Budgetary Impact: This project is proceeding in accordance with the renovations budget as established in the County’s Facilities & Construction budget for FY25. The requested contract amount is $499,000.00.

Recommendation/Motion: Motion to approve a contract with A. M. Myles, Inc. for the renovations at the Performance Building for the Board of Elections.
