Vote to adopt an interlocal resolution with Central Pines Regional Council for managing the Triangle Region Solid Waste Consortium
Abstract
Introduction & Background: For several years, Central Pines Regional Council (CPRC) has been managing a consortium of Solid Waste leaders from various municipalities and counties in the Triangle Region. This Interlocal Resolution would approve Chatham County continuing to be part of the consortium.
Discussion & Analysis: The cost associated with the Memorandum of Agreement is proportional to the populations of the jurisdictions which are participating in the consortium. For Chatham County, it is based on the population in the unincorporated portion of the County because our Solid Waste program does not directly serve the town populations.
How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: This does not directly relate to a specific Comprehensive Plan goal.
Budgetary Impact: The annual fee for Chatham County is $2,064.43. This money is included in the approved budget for fiscal year 2027.
