Abstract
Introduction & Background: Aging Services is seeking approval for three home health agencies that will provide in-home aide and caregiver respite services for its clients. Four agencies - Guardian Angels Home Care of NC, Keston Care, First Choice Home Care and All Ways Caring HomeCare submitted bids.
Discussion & Analysis: Utilizing the attached bid tabulation sheet, all vendors were scored in seven distinct areas, with First Choice Home Care, Keston Care and Guardian Angels Home Care compiling the top three scores. The hourly rates are $32.50 for First Choice Home Care, $28.00 for Guardian Angels Home Care of NC, $27.00 for All Ways Caring HomeCare and $25.00 for Keston Care.
How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: These contracts will enable Aging Services to respond to the County’s Comprehensive Plan Objective of fostering a healthy community.
Budgetary Impact: These services will be covered primarily under the Home and Community Care Block Grant and Family Caregiver Support Program Grant (respite). The county provides the match for the block grant, which is already budgeted and there are American Rescue Plan Act funds that can be used for any respite overages. No budgetary impact is anticipated.
Recommendation/Motion: Vote to award bids for In-Home Aide and Caregiver Respite to First Choice Home Care, Inc., Guardian Angels Home Care of North Carolina and Keston Care. Aging Services authorizes the county attorney and county manager to negotiate and execute the agreements.
