Abstract
Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve $7,118 Focus on Fathers Funds.
Introduction & Background: The Focus on Fathers program is designed to increase family and life-skills competencies in young fathers and to prepare them for a life-long role of mentoring their children and their peers.
Group meetings address emotional support and life-skills training needs for the fathers, and promote father-child bonding through recreational and educational activities. The Focus on Fathers Coordinator will also provide one-on-one assistance and support to program participants to assist them in meeting individualized service goals.
Discussion & Analysis: The additional Smart Start funds will be used for operating expenses, which includes but is not limited to: office supplies, employee travel, training, and mileage reimbursement.
Budgetary Impact: No Local Funding Requested.
