Receive a presentation on MoveChatham from Bolton & Menk Inc

Abstract

Introduction & Background: MoveChatham is the multimodal transportation study being conducted in partnership with Chatham County’s Planning Department and the consultant, Bolton & Menk Inc. The study aims to identify people’s perceptions of the current transportation landscape in Chatham. The survey will inquire about destinations of interest, areas of safety concern, as well as general ideas of where more infrastructure is needed. This portion of the study is considered the data collection and public engagement period. Following the completion of this study, the data will be used to identify action items to improve the overall transportation landscape in Chatham.

Discussion & Analysis: The consultant team is providing the Board of Commissioners with an informational presentation to showcase the project kickoff and introduce the project team. This presentation will allow the Board of Commissioners to ask questions about the project, gain an understanding of this project, and be informed on how they can get the word out about project participation to their communities.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: MoveChatham is closely tied to the Chatham County Comprehensive Plan, serving as a foundational element for shaping future transportation policies and infrastructure investments. The plan emphasizes public input as a guiding principle for decision-making, and the transportation study directly supports this by ensuring community voices shape future investments.
