Abstract
Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve a contract with A&M Construction Services, Inc. for paving and site work at the solid waste collection centers
Introduction & Background: The collection center sites are over 25 years old. The Solid Waste and Recycling division has been working over the last three years to repave and improve the infrastructure at a couple of sites per year. Last year’s project was delayed due to COVID, so there are four sites included this year.
Discussion & Analysis: The work consists of paving repair at three sites, resurfacing the paving at two sites, and installing concrete pads and/or other concrete repair work at four sites.
How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: These repairs relate to Goal 7 of the Comprehensive Plan: Provide infrastructure to support desired development and support economic and environmental objectives.
Budgetary Impact: The contract amount is $165,628.10 and is within the budgeted amount planned for this fiscal year.
Recommendation: Approve a contract with A&M Construction Services, Inc. for paving and site work at the solid waste collection centers and authorize the County Manage to sign the contract pending legal review.
