Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve purchase of former Chatham County Schools Transportation Facility
Introduction & Background: At its December 12, 2016 meeting, the Board of Education approved to declare the former Chatham County Schools Transportation Facility, including property, surplus and no longer necessary for school purposes, and authorize the Superintendent to offer the County the opportunity to purchase the facility, including property, for fair market value ($320,000.00 as determined by an earlier appraisal).
Discussion & Analysis: If accepted by the County, the funds could be used to offset the projected cost of constructing a new Central Services Building in the future as part of the upcoming Capital Improvement Program.
