Vote on a request to adopt a Resolution - Declaring Property Surplus and Authorizing the Sale of Said Property.
Abstract
Introduction & Background: The County must comply with statutory procedures when disposing of personal property. G.S. 160A-270 (public auction) requires the board to adopt a resolution authorizing an appropriate county official to dispose of the property at public auction. The resolution shall identify the property to be sold and set out the date, time, place and terms of the sale.
Discussion & Analysis: The last County auction was in July 2021.
The County has several vehicles that have been removed from service and miscellaneous surplus items. Chatham County Schools will also use this auction to sell their surplus vehicles. The surplus property is located on County Landfill Rd, Pittsboro, NC. The auction will be held online, beginning March 7, 2023, at 11:59pm and ending March 14, 2023, at 7:30pm.
