Vote to appoint the following individuals based on the recommendation from the Chatham County Board of Health:
1. Erika Dunnon to the Board of Health as a public member, effective June 24, 2024
2. Dana Iglesias, MD for Board of Health as a physician member, effective July 1, 2024
3. Catherine Crawford, RN for Board of Health as a nurse member, effective July 1, 2024
4. Heather O'Mara, OD for Board of Health as an optometrist member, effective July 1, 2024
Abstract
Introduction & Background: The Chatham County Board of Health is the policy making, rule-making, and adjudicatory body for the Chatham County Public Health Department.
According to General Statute 130-A-35, the composition of the Board shall reasonably reflect the population makeup of the county and be composed of eleven (11) members of Chatham County community one physician licensed to practice medicine in this State, one licensed dentist, one licensed optometrist, one licensed veterinarian, one registered nurse, one licensed pharmacist, one county commissioner, one professional engineer, and three (3) representatives of general public.
Discussion & Analysis: The Board of Health recommends the following individuals and terms:
1. Erika Dunnon to fill the remainder of an unexpired term ending on June 30, 2026. Ms. Dunnon will be eligible to serve up to three (3) additional three (3) year terms.
2. Dana Iglesias, MD to serve a first (1st) term on the Board of Health as a physician member. Dr. Iglesias will be eligible to serve three (3) consecutive three (3) year terms.
3. Catherine Crawford, RN to serve a first (1st) term on the Board of Health as a nurse member. Ms. Crawford will be eligible to serve three (3) consecutive three (3) year terms.
4. Heather O'Mara, OD to serve a first (1st) term on the Board of Health as an optometrist member. Dr. O'Mara will be eligible to serve three (3) consecutive three (3) year terms.
