Receive a presentation from Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department on Trails and Open Space
Abstract
Introduction & Background: Over the last year Ben Rippe has continued working on developing a trails program for the Parks, Recreation and Cultural resources department.
Discussion & Analysis: This presentation will provide an update on various efforts to expand trail networks within county parks, work to advance planning on several state trails in Chatham County, and other open space and recreation planning efforts.
How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: The County’s Trails and Open Space Planner’s work addresses goal six from the Comprehensive Plan, which is to provide recreational opportunities and access to open space. This work also relates to the goals of conserving natural resources (goal five) and fostering a healthy community (goal ten).
