Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve the contract for staffing at the Solid Waste Collection Centers
Introduction & Background: The attendants who operate the Chatham County Solid Waste Collection Centers are provided by a staffing contractor. The Solid Waste and Recycling division has recently gone through a Request for Proposals (RFP) process to select a contractor who will provide this service once the existing contract expires on June 30, 2021.
Discussion & Analysis: After review of the proposals received, Weiser Security Services was chosen to be the new staffing contractor, pending BOC approval of the contract.
How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: The Solid Waste and Recycling collection centers help accomplish Goal 7: Provide infrastructure to support desired development and support economic and environmental objectives.
Budgetary Impact: The annual contract amount will be $861,906.24. This amount will be included in the department’s recommended budget for fiscal year 2022.
