Receive Presentation of Chatham County’s 2021 Reappraisal

 

Abstract

Action Requested:  Receive presentation of Chatham County’s 2021 reappraisal.

                     

Introduction & Background:  North Carolina G.S. 105-286 mandates each county must reappraise all real property in accordance with the provisions of G.S. 105-283 and G.S. 105-317 as of January 1 of the year set out in the following schedule and every eighth year thereafter, unless the county chooses to advance the date under subdivision (3) which states a county may conduct a reappraisal of real property earlier than required if the Board of County Commissioners adopts a resolution providing for advancement of the reappraisal.

                     

Discussion & Analysis:  In February of 2017, the Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution for a four-year reappraisal cycle.  We have invited Ryan Vincent a representative for Vincent Valuations to speak to the Board of Commissioners regarding the 2021 reappraisal.
