Introduction & Background: The Climate Change Advisory Committee has one vacancy.
Discussion & Analysis: The Climate Change Advisory Committee reviewed applications and put forth Vickie Atkinson as their recommendation for appointment.
Vickie's skills, interests, and experience will fit perfectly with the committee's present needs. She is well known to the committee because she has faithfully attended nearly all of its meetings for the last two years. And, as an attendee, her contributions have already been substantial and "on the mark." Additionally, her numerous affiliations with other climate-focused organizations will bring much valued information to our committee.
The committee has reviewed the statement she has made describing her wish to serve. It insightfully speaks to Chatham County needs, to her potential contributions to the committee, and especially to her sense of urgency regarding the need to address climate change.
