Vote to approve a contract with PGA Construction, Inc. for site work at the Marthas Chapel and Cole Park Collection Centers
Abstract
Introduction & Background: The Solid Waste & Recycling division (SW&R) has been steadily revamping our 12 collection centers over the last 7-8 years. At the Marthas Chapel Collection Center, this project will repair and overlay the pavement, add new concrete pads where needed for durability, and redo the landscaping in the center’s central island. In addition, this project will install a new concrete pad and necessary electrical work to add a recycling compactor to both collection centers.
Discussion & Analysis: This project was bid and four bids were submitted. The lowest responsive, responsible bidder was PGA Construction, Inc.
Once this project is complete, we will be able to install a new recycling compactor at these two centers. These compactors will reduce the number of pulls our drivers have to make each week and add much needed redundancy to Cole Park, which is our busiest center.
How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: Provide infrastructure to support desired development and support economic and environmental objectives.
Budgetary Impact: The project cost of $157,850.00 is budgeted for this fiscal year.
