Receive an update and discuss the Board of Commissioners travel and training expense for the FY2027 budget
Abstract
Introduction & Background: Currently, there are no specified parameters regarding the use of the travel/training line item in the governing board budget. The BOC is positively engaged on the local, state and federal levels and in greater numbers. As such, it is difficult to budget for expenditures in three (3) categories: local elected leader continuing education, event registrations, and conference travel.
Discussion & Analysis: Staff have recognized this trend and seeks to engage the Board early in the FY27 budget process to establish parameters and expectations.

Budgetary Impact: None in FY26; Direction sought for FY27
Recommendation/Motion: Vote to provide direction for staff with regard to board travel and training for FY27 budget preparation.
