Vote on a request to approve a contract with Motorola Solutions Inc. in the amount of $888,655.64 for MCC7500E radio consoles and upgrades at the 911 center and authorize the county manager to execute the contract. 

 

Abstract

Introduction & Background:  This is part of the approved CIP project for the county-wide Motorola P25 radio system upgrade.  This also relates to the new EOC CIP project because we are upgrading existing hardware licenses and adding equipment to the new building.  MCC7500E’s are radio dispatch consoles and are critical equipment for the 911 center.

                     

Discussion & Analysis:  The new EOC allows for additional dispatch positions, and this requires the purchase of additional radio dispatch consoles.  We are upgrading the licenses for the current radio dispatch console equipment and will relocate them to the new building.  This equipment will be purchased off state contract. 

 

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: Ensure public safety through adequate resources, plans, and partnerships to keep people and property safe.

 

Budgetary Impact:  $888,655.64

                     

Recommendation/Motion:  Motion to approve a contract with Motorola Solutions Inc. in the amount of $888,655.64 for MCC7500E radio consoles and upgrades at the 911 center and authorize the county manager to execute the contract.
