Vote to change the appointment of David Morton (District 2) and Gary Cox (District 3) to full board member appointments for the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee
Abstract
Introduction & Background: In 2017, the Chatham County Board of Commissioners reformed the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. The committee membership was set up to consist of 8 to 10 members with three-year terms. As part of the membership, each member of the Board of Commissioners was to have one appointment each.
Discussion & Analysis: Staff performed an audit of the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee appointments and discovered at some point in early 2023, the members of the Board of Commissioners were asked to appointment two members to the committee. To correct the appointments, staff is recommending two individuals be moved from District 2 and District 3 and be appointed to the vacant two full board appointments.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: This committee’s objective is to provide equitable access to housing options for all, which is part of Goal 9 in Plan Chatham.
Budgetary Impact: This action does not impact the budget.
