Vote to accept $4,248 in additional Family Planning funds from NC DHHS
Abstract
Introduction & Background: The North Carolina State Legislature has released non-recurring Maternal and Child Health Block Grant (MCHBG) funding (Session Law 2026-41, Senate Bill 257, Section 9M.1.(a)). Furthermore, additional unallocated federal Title X funds (based on Notice of Award dated 03/31/2026) and additional unallocated state Supporting Women’s Health Services (SWHS) funds are now available (Session Law 2023-14, Section 4.1). The LHD is to use these additional funds to implement family planning services.
Discussion & Analysis: The SWHS funding shall be utilized similar to the MCHBG funding to support the family planning clinical services. The funds will be used to cover staffing costs related to these services.
