Title

Vote to approve a on-call engineering contract with Freese and Nichols, Inc. for staff support services

Abstract

Introduction & Background: Watershed Protection, Planning, and Parks and Recreation departments have varying needs for staff support for county and public projects. Freese and Nichols provide a myriad of engineering services, particularly for stormwater and erosion control plan reviews to keep projects within the designated deadlines for county reviews.

Discussion & Analysis: Outsourcing certain tasks has been critical in maintaining workloads and deadlines within the statutory framework. Development has outpaced staffing levels for years, and third-party support is the most cost-effective method to address the increased demands for existing staff.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: This contract is a supportive measure to ensure the proper planning and implementation of the County’s land use regulations.

Budgetary Impact: N/A

Recommendation/Motion: Motion to approve a on-call engineering contract with Freese and Nichols, Inc. for staff support services.
