Vote to approve a sole source contract with Social Good for Services provided by the Chatham Health Alliance
Abstract
Introduction & Background: The Chatham Health Alliance (Alliance) began as an initiative of the Chatham County Public Health Department in 2015. Over the past 11 years, the Alliance has grown in membership and reach. It is now recognized as a driving coalition of collaborative community health efforts in Chatham, with a specific focus on the health priorities identified in the Community Assessment.
The Chatham County Public Health Department seeks approval for a sole source contract with the Social Good Fund, on behalf of its fiscally sponsored project, the Chatham Health Alliance, to provide services related to the Community Assessment, health priority action planning, and other community health initiatives.
Discussion & Analysis: Through the contract, the Alliance employs a full-time Executive Director who manages and coordinates all Alliance initiatives and responsibilities. This includes maintaining the membership of numerous local agencies, engaging Alliance members in the development of an annual community cohort survey, sharing survey results with the Chatham community, completing the Annual Alliance and State of the County Health Report and assuring the completion of Chatham Health Alliance subcommittee action plans to address current health priorities identified in the most recent Chatham Community Assessment. The work carried out by the Alliance assists the Chatham County Public Health Department with meeting the NC Division of Public Health requirements for local health departments. The Alliance Executive Director provides an annual presentation to the Chatham County Commissioners and the Board of Health with updates on Alliance activities.

Budgetary Impact: No local funding requested. Funds will be drawn from the Chatham County Public Health Department’s existing budget.
