Title

Vote to appoint Lincoln Frye as the District 5 member to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and appoint a Full Board Member to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee with both terms expiring June 30, 2026

Abstract

Introduction & Background: In 2017, the Chatham County Board of Commissioners reformed the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. The committee membership was set up to consist of 8 to 10 members with three-year terms. As part of the membership, each member of the Board of Commissioners has one appointment each.

The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on procedures and policies related to affordable housing. They have been focused on implementing the Affordable Rental Housing Strategy Toolbox, developing new strategies for affordable home ownership, and administering the Housing Trust Fund application review and award process.

Discussion & Analysis: Commissioner Gomez-Flores would like to appoint Lincoln Frye for the District 5 appointment in which the term will expire on 6/30/2026.

Gary Cox stopped participating and Chair Stuflick received no response.

The full board has a vacancy with a term that will expire on June 30, 2026.
