ABSTRACT
Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve the contract allowing Yanders Landscaping to furnish all labor and materials for the Lawn Maintenance Contract for the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center.
Introduction & Background: Chatham County is required to solicit bids for the lawn maintenance at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center due to the size and value of the scope. Initial bids were due on October 11, 2022, but due to the lack of participation, a re-bid was advertised and due on November 10, 2022. As a result of the re-bid, Yanders Landscaping was deemed the low responsive, responsible bidder. The contract is a one year with the possibility of two additional renewals which brings the value to a level needing Board of Commissioners approval.
Discussion & Analysis: It is being requested that the BOC approve the contract allowing Yanders Landscaping to perform the lawn maintenance at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center. Yanders Landscaping has performed very well as they have been the only firm to handle the lawn maintenance at that facility since it was built. Yanders Landscaping is also a local, Chatham County vendor.

Budgetary Impact: This project is proceeding in accordance with the budget as established with the Manager’s Office, Budget and Finance Office for the Facilities & Construction Department. Potential Cost for the up to three-year contract could be $166,500.
