Title

Vote to approve a contract with CentralSquare Technologies, LLC in the amount of $43,225.00 for Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) at the 911 center and authorize the county manager to negotiate and execute the contract.

Abstract

Introduction & Background:  This contact is for one time setup fees as well as a yearly subscription to a hosted product which will connect the Emergency Communications Center’s (9-1-1 center) computer aided dispatch system with other Emergency Communications Centers around the state.

Discussion & Analysis:  The ECC uses computer aided dispatch to input calls for service and when information needs to be given to another ECC, it has to be relayed over the phone or radio.  A faster, more efficient method to transfer call information between ECC’s is to connect the computer aided dispatch systems together.  This product from CentralSquare allows for this and it does not matter which computer aided dispatch vendor an ECC is using.  This allows for interoperability and improves efficiency.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan:  Ensure public safety through adequate resources, plans, and partnerships to keep people and property safe.

Budgetary Impact:  $43,225.00

Recommendation/Motion:  Motion to approve a contract with CentralSquare Technologies, LLC in the amount of $43,225.00 for Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) at the 911 center and authorize the county manager to negotiate and execute the contract.
